Home » Girls' Cross Country NewsOutstanding Highland Invite Result for the Lady Kougar CC TeamSeptember 27, 2011 Kankakee Valley High SchoolOn Saturday, in a tough field featuring many fine runners and teams, the KV Lady Kougar CC team ran a tremendous race, by far their best meet of the year, to bring home the team runner-up trophy, with 129 pts., behind only Perry Meridian from Indy. They finished in front of fine teams such as Tri-County-3rd; Hebron-4th, and NCC opponent Lowell-5th, and are now 66-40 on the season. Taking full advantage of KV Boys' Coach Tim Adams' workouts kicking in, and competing to the best of their abilities, the ladies were led by Allison Rockley's 11th place, in a PR of 20:10. Fellow soph. Brittany Stepp, ran a PR by OVER A MINUTE, to finish 16th, in 20:16. Freshman Michelle Kent also PR'd, grabbing 20th, in 20:47. Rockley, Stepp, and Kent all earned individual trophies for finishing among the top 20. Soph. Kaylin Orsburn-23rd in a SB time of 20:54, to earn a ribbon, also ran well. Classmates Kate Lott, and Joli Jungels were 59th and 64th, respectively, both running PR's by significant amounts. Jr. Rachel Krupa was 94th in a SB time of 24:52. This runner-up finish, their third such result of the season in invites in 2011, is a great way to head into the NCC meet, and Sectionals. Keep up the great work, ladies!!
