KV's senior sprint sensation, Leanna Mulloy, concluded her outstanding career in fine fashion Saturday at the Midwest Meet of Champions. This meet, which features the top senior track and field athletes from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan, was held on June 14th. "Lee", one of KV's best ever sprinters, took 9th in the 100 in 12.67, almost a second faster than at the state meet June 6th, and less than two weeks after her car accident. She then ran the 3rd leg of the 400 relay squad, which took 2nd in a very swift time of 48.69. KV's first Indiana All-Star in many years, Leanna holds school records in the 200, and 400, 800 and 1600 relays. She's been All-NCC 1st Team in the 100 four straight years and also won the 100 at sectional four straight years, holding meet records at both meets, and receiving multiple honors and awards throughout her career. These efforts helped lead her team to four straight sectional wins and multiple relay meet titles. She qualified numerous times for the indoor and outdoor state meets, earning a medal in the indoor 55, and qualifying outdoors in the 100-2x, the 4x400, the 200 and the 4x100-2x, during her remarkable career. Thank you Leanna, for your outstanding career and efforts, from KV's coaching staff, and best wishes at Purdue!!
