KV Girls' Track and Field Wins Quad Meet

On Tuesday, KV's Girls' Track and Field Team defeated North Judson, North Newton and Oregon-Davis in a regular season quad meet.  The 3200 relay team of Allison Rockley, Allison Tokarz, Allison Schultheis and Brittany Stepp took 1st.  Mackenzie DeMars won the  high jump with Jenna Musall-2nd and Dannae Yozman-3rd.  Jenna Jungels won the 100 hurdles with Shanan Patrick-3rd. Leanna Mulloy won the 100, with Gab Martin-3rd.  Rockley was 2nd in the 1600 in a personal record time of 5:55.0, Tokarz was 4th in an excellent time of 6:16.5, and Maddi Nomanson -5th.  Alyssa Eger was 2nd in the shot with a season-best (SB) of 32'-1/2", Kara Gouwens also had a SB of 30'-1/2", good for 3rd and Beth Jansma was 4th.  Je. Jungels won the long jump at 16'-11 1/4", with Yozman-4th.  Joli Jungels, Je. Jungels, Martin and Mulloy won another 400 relay.  K. Gouwens had a terrific meet, winning the 400 in a SB time of 65.2, very strong into the wind.  Julianna Colon hustled in 2nd.  Erin Gouwens won the pole vault with a vault of 6'-6", Leah Gouwens was 2nd, also at 6-6", with K. Gouwens-4th.  L. Gouwens ran an excellent 300's, taking 2nd in 52.0, with Patrick-4th.  Brittany Kent was a strong 2nd in the 800 in 2:38.0, with Schultheis-4th with a solid time of 2:42.0.  Jazmyne Mehay won the discus with a toss of 99'-5", with Jansma-3rd and Nina Freund-5th, as KV's throwers continue to supply huge points for their team!  Martin blasted the curve to win the 200 in a fine into the wind time of 28.7.  Kiley Ferris was 5th.  Kendall Schultz, in her first track season, competed well in the JV sprints.  Stepp ran a terrific 3200, winning in an excellent time of 12:58.3.  Jo. Jungels, Audra Lewis, Colon and K. Gouwens won the 1600 relay in a solid time of 4:31.7, on another frigid night in the Valley.  KV, currently ranked 4th in the area, improves to 5-1 on the regular season.  They return to action Friday night at the Twin Lakes Relays, a meet they look forward to every year.
