At last night's Hoosier State Relays Trials, held at Purdue University, the Lady Kougar Track and Field Team had many stellar performances.  Competing against many of Indiana's top teams, and a powerhouse from Illinois, KV competed at a level good for the end of the outdoor season in several events.  In the 4x200 relay, the quartet of Joli Jungels, Jenna Jungels, Leah Gouwens and Leanna Mulloy blasted around the oval in a fantastic time of 1:50.9, shattering the old school record!!  This was 3rd overall in this meet, and currently is ranked 20th state-wide, large-school division.  Je. Jungels blasted to victory in her 55 hurdle heat, in 9.08, good for 2nd overall and currently 19th state-wide.   She was 3rd overall in the long jump at these trials, 21st state-wide, with her leap of 16'4 1/2".  When all the trials meets are done March 15th, the top 24 times and distances state-wide per division, qualify for the HSR Finals, March 22nd at Indiana Wesleyan.  (info can be found at www.iatccc.org-HSR site.)  Mulloy hustled to a win in her heat of the 55 meter dash in a fast 7.6, good for 4th overall here, and 32nd state-wide, currently.  Throwers Alyssa Eger and Beth Jansma continued their strong 1-2 punch performances, Eger tossing the shot 32'-7 1/4"-good for 12th at this meet, and 40th, state-wide.  Jansma set a personal record with an outstanding throw of 32'-3", 13th overall, and 45th state-wide.  The DMR team of Allison Rockley-1200 in 4:27.0, L. Gouwens-400 in 68.0, Brittany Stepp-800 in 2:38.0 and Brittany Kent-1600 in 6:28.0, all ran very well, finishing with a time of 14:45.6, 10th at this meet, and 48th state-wide. Other solid performances were: Audra Lewis and Sam Tokarz, both 69 second 400's in the 4x400, Allison Tokarz-a 2:56.0 4x800 leg and Allison  Schultheis-a 2:52.0 leg anchoring that same relay.  Tremendous meet, ladies!!
