Kougars Earn Conference Win

Wheatfield, IN – KV Boys tennis takes down NCC opponent Hobart at home tonight.
The Kougar’s took an early lead when Luke Sanderson dominated #1 singles 6-0, 6-0 to make the overall score 1-0.
Anthony Zoppetti quickly snagged a 2nd point for the Kougars at the #2 singles position, only dropping 2 games in the process.
Brickies got their sole point at #1 doubles where Hunter DeHaan and Cameron Fritts had a second set comeback but fell in the end.
Kougars 3rd and clinching point came at #2 doubles. Adam Sayers and Trevor Wiesemann took down their opponents 6-3, 6-3.
Kyle Banaszak was the last match to finish at the #3 singles position. He pulled out a victory after a grueling battle, making the final score 4-1.
Hobart’s JV team pulled out a tight 2-1 victory. Jared Stemper got his first victory of the 2013 season with a convincing 8-3 win at #2 singles.
Sam Hamstra battled hard until the end, before falling to his #1 singles opponent.
Alex Martakis was in a tight battle until the end. He eventually fell to his opponent, but it was a hard fought match.
Coach Katee comments, “I am very proud of the team today. Everyone played very well, and I can see the improvement already. The boys were very coachable, and the victory was well earned.”
The Kougars are now 2-3 overall and take on Munster Tuesday on the road.
