Kent Earns Individual Ribbon at Prestigious Harrison Cross Country Invite

September 4, 2012
Kankakee Valley High School

On Saturday the Lady Kougar cross team battled the course, heat, and less than stellar health at the Harrison Invite, which features many of the top individuals and teams from all over the state.  Soph. Michelle Kent continued her fine season, running a personal record, and putting herself among an elite group, by placing 35th in a time of 20:15.34.  This is KV's first individual ribbon at Harrison since 2x All-Stater Kristin Fritts accomplished the feat a few years ago.  Jr. Allison Rockley was 89th in 21:36.40, with classmates Kaylin Orsburn-102nd in 21:55.47, and Brittany Stepp-124th in 22:54.21.  Sr. Rachel Krupa ran roughly 30 seconds faster than in 2011, grabbing 157th place in 25:09.75, with jr. Joli Jungels close behind in 161st place, with a time of 25:36.41.  The Lady Kougars return to action this evening with the first NCC double-dual of the season, at Andrean with Munster.
