Lady Kougar Cross Country Team Strong at North White; KV Boys' CC Solid 4th

At Saturday's North White Cross Country Invite, the Lady Kougars finished a solid 2nd out of 13 scoring teams, led by soph. Michelle Kent's very strong 3rd in 20:18, roughly a minute faster than she ran in 2011.  Jr. Allison Rockley also ran very well, taking the 7th place award in 21:27.  Classmates Brittany Stepp and Kaylin Orsburn hustled in, in 14th and 15th place, respectively, with times of 21:49, and 21:58.  Kate Lott was 54th in 24:20, Rachel Krupa-62nd in 25:32, over 30 seconds faster than last year, and Joli Jungels was 72nd in 25:53, also faster than she ran in 2011.  The boys' were led by soph. Bryce Gawronski's excellent 10th place finish in 18:18, followed by a fine run by sr. Brandon Hazlett.  "Brando" was 12th in 18:26.  Fr. Isaac Tillema, a record-setting middle school sprinter, had a very good first high school cross race, finishing 24th in 19:03.  Soph. Jacob Stemper was 31st in a strong time of 19:18.  Jr. Andrew Schultheis was 51st in 20:03, with soph. Justin Edwards-85th in 21:54.  Schultheis and Edwards were also in their first high school cross races.  Nice job, both teams!!  They return to action next Sat. at the McCutcheon Invite.
