The Co-Male Athletes of the Week are golf team members Ryan Beere and Tyler DeHaan.  They shot a 90 and an 85 in the cold rain on Saturday's Kankakee Valley Invitational leading the team to a sixth place finish in a field of fifteen teams.  The Kougars finished ahead of Highland, Griffith, Merrillville and tied  Portage.  Congratulations, Ryan and Tyler!

 

The Female Athlete of the Week is softball pitcher Ashley Dobson.  Ashley helped the Kougars avenge an early season loss to Lowell by tossing a three hit, 4-0 shutout against the Red Devils on Monday.  Ashley then followed up with another three-hit shutout at Hobart with the Kougars winning 11-0.  To top off the week, she pitched a two hit, 4--0 shutout at Munster on Friday leading the team to a sweep of the Mustangs for the season.  Her overall record for the season is 7 wins with only 2 losses.

Ashley currently has an ERA of 0.84, and has fanned 52 batters.  Congratulations, Ashley!
