Super Bowl 2012 is a rematch of Super Bowl in 2007. The New York Giants are once again going against the New England Patriots.
This is going to be a true test for Eli Manning. Eli Manning is having the best season of his career, throwing for 4,933 yards and 29 touchdowns with a 92.9 rating.
The Giants, as a team, are healthier now than they were during the regular season when they defeated The New England Patriots. They have all of their dangerous defensive linemen back; arguably the best d-line in the National Football League.
Offensively, the Giants have a better receiver core than the last time they played New England due to the return of Pro Bowl wide receiver, Hakeem Nicks. Also, Victor Cruz is having an outstanding season with 82 receptions, 1,539 receiving yards, and an impressive 9 touchdowns.
However, the New England Patriots have a chip on their shoulder after losing to the Giants the last two times these teams have faced off.
The best coach in the NFL, Bill Belichick, is going to study the Giants and, along with arguably the best quarterback ever, Tom Brady, they will come up with a scheme and make some changes. The Giants, with a better team on the field, will be out-coached.
In the regular season, the Patriots had the 31st ranked defense in the league. During the playoffs, though, they have stepped up and shut down the number one rushing team in the league and one of the top running backs in the league, Ray Rice.
Also, the Patriots have a tight end by the name of Rob Gronkowski. He caught 90 footballs, had 1,327 yards, and 17 touchdowns. The Giants had a problem with tight ends in the NFC championship game. Vernon Davis had 2 touchdown catches for over 30 yards.
This game is going to be one for the ages. The final score?
Patriots 27 - Giants 24.
