Cross Country Takes 7th at Districts

November 2, 2009
Kirksville Senior High School

MOBERLY, Mo. — It was rough sledding for the Kirksville cross country teams Saturday at the Class 3 District 5 meet at the Moberly Country Club.

Neither Tiger team advanced any runners to next week’s state meet at Jefferson City, but Kirksville head coach Kelsey Goodman was pleased with the effort.

“I thought they ran great,” she said. “I think they ran as well as they possibly could.“

The Kirksville boys wound up seventh in the team standings with 182 points. Helias won the meet with 40 points and Grain Valley finished second with 73. Both Helias and Grain Valley will advance to Saturday’s Class 3 state meet in Jefferson City.

For the complete story, see Monday's Daily Express.
