KIRKSVILLE — It can be said that Kirksville golfer Chelsea Clark has made up for lost time.

Clark, a junior who didn’t take up the game until the beginning of her freshman year, earned the 2009 Daily Express Girls Golfer of the Year honors after finishing in a tie for third in the North Central Missouri Conf-erence meet and advancing to the Class 1 state tournament with a third-place finish at districts.

Clark was one of three Kirksville Tigers to make it to state, joining teammates Mariah Smith and Morgan Schmitz. Clark helped lead the Lady Tigers to the conference title.
