Home » Football NewsSEASN OUTLOOKNovember 21, 2010 By DeMarco King of Justin F Kimball High SchoolNo one on the outside expected the Knights to have a season as they did this year. With a new head coach, 9 sophomores starting the first game, coming off a 2-7 season and missing the 2009 season playofffs after having 17 players suspended. Kimball's then interim principal, Earl Jones, made a move of making naming Carlton Nelson the Interim Head Coach back in May of the Knights. Coach Nelson came in with a new team motto when he sat with the team back in May. Structure, Discipline, and Character. The players took into the motto and had a successful season. The Knights lost a lot of players from a year ago. losing 9 offensive starters (8 due to graduation, 1 transferred), had to fill those positions with a lot of new faces. On defense, they had to fill 7 new faces into a new system. With seniors like Austin Franklin, Isiah Norton, and Kenneth Lynn have seen three different head coaches in their four years while in the Knights uniform and all three had a great season. With going 9-3, the Knights look to build up from this season each year. Not to be the best in "DISD", but to be the best Area, Region and State Football for years to come. With about 13 starters (at one time or another) both offense and defense, the sky is the limited for next years team. Until next August, GO KNIGHTS FOOTBALL!!!
