Scripp: A great fundraising opportunity

BEDFORD BAND & ORCHESTRA BOOSTERS – SCRIP PROGRAM
 
 
This is a great way to start saving for Marching Band Camp, Washington DC, Florida or any Band, Orchestra or Music Trip through Bedford High School.
 
What is Scrip?
Scrip is gift certificates you purchase in advance of your shopping, dining, etc. We work with a company called Great Lakes Scrip that provides a means for non-profits  to raise money for their charity.
 
How Does it Work?
You decide which vendor(s) to purchase scrip(gift certificates) from.  Go to www.glscrip.com <http://www.glscrip.com>  and click on retailers list to see the various vendors available
Place your order by Sunday night at 9pm and the scrip/gift certificates are usually available for pick up by Thursday night.  The coordinator will let you know that your order is available for pick up or you can make arrangements for pick-up. You pay for the scrip/gift certificates through Presto Pay. You will  also need to sign up for Presto Pay which is a secure Online Payment Service that Great Lake Scrip has available.  Per each order they charge a 39 cent convenience fee. Whether you order $25 or $1,000, it is only 39 cents. You will be charged the total order amount when the order is placed, rather than when you pick up the scrip/gift certificates.  
 
What is the Advantage to Buying  Scrip
You buy scrip/gift certificates at their face value. For example, if you buy a $25 scrip/gift certificate from Aeropostale, you get a $25 gift card!  The benefit is that the vendors offer percentage discounts (7% from Aeropostale=$1.75), mostly passed on to you and put into your student’s high school trip account. These certificates are worth their face value so you are not paying any more than you would have if you just went into the store or restaurant without the certificates. This way you are getting a percentage back into your students trip account. This will help offset the costs of any trips your student may take while in high school.
 
Does the Student get the Money?
No, the student does not get the money directly.  The money is held in account for each specific student. A record is kept on each student as to the monies or credit earned.  Regular accounting is given to both the students and the BBOB.  Each order will give information of monies/credit earned by student.  The monies/credit earned can be used towards Band/Orchestra/Music trips or clinics through Bedford High School. Any balance left in a student’s account upon graduation or if the student quits band or orchestra, first will be place into a sibling’s account or second into the BBOB General Funds.
 
How Do I Sign Up?  
It is two steps - First do a Family Sign Up (See attached letter for the sign up code – “Getting Started at ShopWithScrip”), second sign up with PrestoPay.   These only need to be done once to enroll into the Scrip Program
Sign up for Presto Pay by visiting the “my account” page at ShopWithScrip.com, and click on the PrestoPay link on the left navigation bar.  You’ll find additional information and instructions for activating this convenient payment tool. This is not a costly credit card system, but a secure electronic payment system.  Use of PrestoPay is a requirement to participate in the Scrip Program.
 
You simply visit the secure PrestoPay area at ShopWithScirp.com and enter your checking account information. After PrestoPay verifies your checking information, they will send you a secure approval code that you must give to your scrip coordinator.  Then you are ready to go and can pay with PrestoPay at the time you order and have your payment securely transferred from your checking account.
 
How Do I Place An  Online Order?
Once you have done a Family Sign Up and enrolled in PrestoPay, you can order online anytime. Weekly, Monday 8am,  we release the orders to be filled by Great Lakes Scrip. This timeframe will allow for the scrip/gift certificates’ to be available for pick up that next Thursday.
 
How Do I Pay?
You pay through PrestoPay at the time you place your order.
 
How Will I know How Much Money/Credit My Student Has?
There will be a purchase order/statement given with each student order filled.  It will show what was ordered and the amount of credit earned for the current order.  Also each student’s cumulated balance will be accounted for and periodically statements will be given out.
 
Are There Any Fees?
Currently a small percentage will be deducted to help cover the cost of shipping and to be put towards the BBOB General Fund.
 
Can My Relatives/Friends Use the Scrip Program Too?
Yes.  In the Family Sign Up, indicate which student this money is to be credit to. They can set up their own account through the Family Sign up and PrestoPay.

How to Register
To register with ShopWithScrip, first open up your web browser, and go to www.shopwithscrip.com. To register a new
account, go to the green Family Sign Up box on the left side, and click “Create Account”.
Follow the simple registration instructions and accept the terms and conditions of using the site.
Select two challenge questions and provide answers. These answers will be required if
you forget your password. They are case-sensitive.
Before you can place an order, you must enter our organization’s enrollment code, listed
below. By associating this code with your newly created account, the ShopWithScrip
system will correlate your shopping activity with our non-profit organization.
Using ShopWithScrip.com
You can manage your account through the
Family Home page. To access this, click “My
Account,” at the top of any page.
From here, you can check your account
activity, change your profile and password,
add, remove, and modify organizations you
belong to and read coordinator and site
announcements.
You can also run your own order and rebate
