JH Girls Basketball - season review

     Bzzzz...and that was the sound of the final shot of the last game of the season for all Lady Bronco Basketball Teams.

     The 8th grade Red team finished with a 9-1 record and the 8th grade White finished with record of 10-2.

     The 7th grade whit finshed with a 10-2 redcord and the Red team finished with a 5-5 record.

     The eighth grade white team started their season off with a win against Saline Gold on, January 18th with a score of 21-15. Notable players included, Nicole Rightnowar with 10 points, McKenna Maraugha added 6 points, and Chloe Lamb and Rosie Morningstar added 5 points. Julia Keister also played well.

     The eighth grade white team had another win against Dexter Maroon on January 20th with a score of 25- 3. Distinguished players included Rightnowar with 15 points, Morningstar with 8 points and Erica Blankenship with six points. Megan Payne and Kayla Chmiel also played well for the 2-0 Lady Broncos.

     On January 24th they won against Tecumseh 32-3. The notable players included Rightnowar with 18 points, Morningstar, Keister, Chmiel, Maraugha, Brianne Gladieux, and Lamb played well.

     The 8th Grade White team beat Monroe Red 25-2. Leading the score was Julia Keister she gained 12 points. Chloe Lamb added 8 points. Rosie Morningstar and Erica Blankenship with 6 points apiece. Kayla Chmiel and McKenna Maraugha both played well.

     The seventh grade white team started out their season with a win against Saline gold on January 18th, with a 21-11. Leading the score with 14 points was Kendall Anderson.

The team came home with a loss against Dexter Maroon on January 20th with a score of 12-6. Notable players included Ali Price with five points and Kendall Anderson led in rebounding.

     Their next game the seventh grade white team lost in the last second shot to Tecumseh on January 24th, 15-14. Notable players included Maddie Winters with eight points, Kendall Anderson, and Ali Price with 6 points apiece.

     The team later beat Monroe on January 27th with a score of 24-1. Notable players included Maddie Winters with 13 points. Kendall Anderson added 9 points and Alyssa Tillman with 6 points.

     The 8th grade red team had their first game on January 20, against Ypsilanti they started out their season with a win. The score was 18- 10. The Notable players were Chelsea Bauders, Rachel Lewandowski and Mackenzie Riggs all with six points. It was a great first game.

     Rachel Lewandowski described how she readied herself for the games. She said,"I always eat a pack of skittles before the game, and if I forget them I keep a spare in my bag." The girls went to Saline on January 24th and won with a score of 17-16. It was a very close game; they came back, and won by 1 point.

     Then the red team had a home game against Monroe January 28th, winning 27-3. Leading there defense was, Sam Brown and Somer Nocella both had 5 rebounds. Lewandowski and Justice Bowie had 8 points each. They are now 3-0.

     The 7th grade red team began their season with a home game against Ypsilanti on January 20, with a win of 20-10. The notable players were Christy Strable with 10 points, Morgan McCormick with seven points, Casey Reiter and Rachel Schott each scored six points. Emma Renius led the team with rebounding and Lia Manera with five steals.

     They lost 12-10 to Saline. Notable players included Lea Manera, Alyse Geiger, and Christy Strable all played well.

     They lost a close game to Monroe; the score was 16-11. The notable players were Christy Strable with 6 points. Rachel Schott, Morgan McCormick, and Casey Reiter each had 4 points. Meghan Renius lead the defensive effort.
