Home » Baseball NewsFreshman Lose Opener at TrentonMarch 30, 2011 By Michael Walling of Bedford SportsOn a frigid afternoon for baseball the Mules found themselves down to Trenton early in the game. The first three batters for Trenton reached base and scored as they sent seven men to the plate. Bedford, however, bounced back in the second inning putting two up on the board. Josh Rozek, Adam Swisher, and Kyle Kraftchick added hits in the inning and the Mules defense held in the bottom of the second inning. Bedford appeared to be ready to bust a huge inning in the top of the third; however, they lined out up the middle and the were doubled off at second. They managed to push two more runs across the plate in the top of the fifth, but it was not enough as Trenton had big innings in the fourth and the fifth. At the final out the Mules found themselves on the wrong side of an 11-5 game. Bedford looks to bounce back next Tuesday versus SMCC 4PM at home.
