By Larry Mauter of Bedford High School

Game #12 – Ann Arbor Huron 7, Bedford 2,  Wed. Jan. 15

Bedford’s winless SEC record continued with a 7-2 loss to Ann Arbor Huron.  The River Rats built a three goal lead into the second period before Jonathan Rokicki put the Mules on the board, assisted by David Jeffers and Devin Keener.  But Huron scored 40 seconds later and eventually took a 5-1 lead into the intermission.

Rokicki scored early in the third period, assisted by Grant Harper and Ethan Aubry to make it 5-2.  Within a minute the River Rats scored again, then finished with one more goal.

Game #13 – Dexter 5, Bedford 1,  Fri. Jan. 17

Dexter took early control of this game, outshooting Bedford 16-2 in the first period and building a 2-0 lead.  The Dreadnaughts scored once in the second period and two more times in the third before Ian Andres ended the shutout, assisted by Devin Keener and Jacob Ansara.

Goalkeeper Austin Grycza faced 42 Dexter shots  on the night, while Bedford had only 13 shots.  The loss took the Mules to 5-7-1 for the season and 0-5 in the SEC.

Game #14 – Bedford 13, Fremont-Ross 0,  Sun. Jan. 19

The game opened with Fremont-Ross taking the first three shots, and it looked like Bedford might be in for a surprise.  By the end of the first period, the shots were 18-4 in favor of the Mules as they ran up a six goal lead.  Bedford then finished off the Little Giants with a seven goal barrage in the second period in capturing a 13-0 victory.

The “Jakes” each scored two goals – Jacob Ansara, Jake Schulty, and Jake Stark.  Scoring single goals were Grant Harper, Ian Andres, Devin Keener, Lucas Haberkamp, Patrick Modrowski, Devin Keener, and Josef Molnar.  Ethan Moore recorded the shutout.  The Mules outshot Fremont-Ross 40-9.
