Bedford finishes 5th in boys XC Regionals
October 27, 2013By Larry Mauter of Bedford Sports
The Bedford boys cross country team finished 5th in today's MHSAA Regional competition. Adam Blaida led the Mules, finishing 24th overall (17:21), with freshman Dominic Adduci right on his heels finishing 25th (17:22). Senior Tyler Benore posted a lifetime personal best at 17:27.6, and Maxwell Lezon finished in a season best 17:35. Rounding out the scoring for Bedford was Adam Audet, who was 30th in 17:37.
In the open race, several Bedford runners ran lifetime personal bests, including Matthew Lezon (17:55), Brendan McClanahan (18:20), Brandon Gore (20:06), and David Jordan (20:24). Running season bests were Spencer Sullivan (21:13) and Anthony Soster (21:34).
"It was disappointing that we were unable to sneak into the top three and move on to States, but I was not disappointed in the performance of the team. They ran great races, each and every one of them left it all on the course, but those top four teams were tougher today. I was proud of our team today, very proud. They can all hold their heads high," stated coach Scott Earl. "The seniors took it hard, but if they didn't feel the sting, then they didn't care. These boys care, though, and it hurt to finish anywhere but at States." - Coach Earl
