Nov. 17 – Home vs. SMCC Bedford began the 2012-13 season with a non-league game at the Toledo Ice House against Monroe SMCC, downing the Falcons by a 4-3 score. Neither team could find the back of the net until Noah Szenderski broke the ice with 30 seconds left in the first period, and while the Mules were short-handed. However, SMCC tied it with on their power play with only four second remaining. Six minutes into the second period, Michael Pisanti put Bedford ahead, and then Kyle Kuhr made it 3-1 with another Mule short-handed goal. SMCC had a 5-on-3 advantage at the time. The Falcons made it 3-2 with a power play goal two minutes before the second intermission. Szenderski gave Bedford its second two-goal lead three minutes into the third period, only to see SMCC respond a minute later with a short-handed goal. The last 13 minutes of the period were scoreless as the light Falcon bench battled fatigue. The Mules outshot SMCC 31-28. Senior goalkeeper Adam Glick went the distance for Bedford.
