Fri. Jan. 20 – home vs. Perrysburg

Bedford traveled to Tam-O-Shanter in Sylvania for a home game vs. Perrysburg.  The Mules pumped in three goals in the last half of the first period in coasting to a 4-1.  Bedford outshot the Yellowjackets 40-19 during the night, which included five penalty kills.

Connor Glick scored his first goal of the season on a screen shot, assisted by Josh Hoogendoorn and Noah Szenderski.  Not to be outdone, both Hoogendoorn and Szenderski scored goals of their own as the Mules built a 3-0 lead.  Perrysburg scored with a second remaining in the period to make it 3-1 at the break.

Szenderski scored his second goal of the game with three minutes left in the second period, and the teams played a scoreless third period.  Adam Glick raised his record to 7-2 in goal.

Sat. Jan. 21 – at Ann Arbor Pioneer

At the SEC Showcase hosted at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube, Pioneer continued its perennial domination over Bedford, cruising to a 6-1 victory.  The Mules enjoyed a 33-23 advantage in shots on goal, but could only get one past the Ann Arbor goalkeeper.

The Pioneers scored in the last minute of the first period, then pounded home four goals in the second period to lead 5-0 at the second intermission.  Travis Krider gave Bedford some hope with an early third period goal, but two minutes later Ann Arbor regained their five goal lead.

Sun. Jan. 22 – at Clay

Bedford finished the weekend with a 4-0 win over Clay, clinching first place in the NHC White Division.  As in the other two games during the weekend, the Mules outshot their opponents by a wide margin, 36-19 in this game.

It took Bedford 12 minutes to score the first goal, Devin Keener from Michael Pisanti.  The Mules added a pair of second period goals, one each by Pisanti and Josh Hoogendoorn.  Early in the third period Pisanti scored again, then Bedford tightened up its defense to preserve the shutout for goalkeeper Adam Glick.
