Jan. 13 – away vs. Monroe-Jefferson Unlike their earlier mercy rule victory over Jefferson, the Mules needed overtime to earn a hard fought 4-3 win. Noah Szenderski scored with a minute left in the extra period, his second goal of the game, with Bedford on a power play after surviving a Bears power play to start the period. The Mules played without leading scorer Dominic Pisanti in the lineup, off with a hand injury.
Bedford never trailed in the game and never led by more than a goal as the teams traded scores. Following a scoreless first period, Brenden Campbell put the Mules ahead early in the second period. Jefferson tied the game 10 minutes later on a power play goal, but a minute later Josh Hoogendoorn put Bedford ahead again on a power play. The Bears made it 2-2 in the last minute of play of the period.
Szenderski gave the Mules a 3-2 lead with 6:33 left in the third period. Bedford got into some penalty trouble, and Jefferson tied the game with two minutes left in regulation while skating with a two player advantage. Zane Smith was strong in goal, facing 31 shots in the game, including a pair of breakaways that he turned aside.
