BLOGGING WITH THE COMMISSIONER
Followers of the KHSAA from all directions – school administrators, coaches, media, fans and officials – can now follow the thoughts of Commissioner Julian Tackett through a blog launched on Monday. Tackett’s first two blog posts explain each of the proposals for this week’s annual meeting. Tackett plans to share his thoughts on a variety of subjects dealing with scholastic athletics.
“It’s a little less formal than a news release and allows me to say more than I can through a 140-character Tweet. Anybody that knows me finds out quickly that I’m never at a loss for words,” Tackett joked. “This is just another way of communicating and keeping people in the loop with what is happening in high school sports around the state, with a little homespun commentary thrown in. It’s something I have been thinking about for some time and this week it just seemed like a good time to get it started because there was so much I wanted to explain.”
