KENTUCKY BEATS TENNESSEE!!!!!

November 26, 2011

KENTUCKY WINS! KENTUCKY WINS! KENTUCKY WINS!

It finally happened folks, the Kentucky Wildcats beat the Tennessee Volunteers 10-7 earlier today for the first time since 1984!!!

UK hosted UT at Commonwealth Stadium earlier today, it was Senior Day and a odd one to start as wide receiver MATT ROARK(pictured doing the "Y") not only started, but played the entire game as quarterback with injuries to Newton and Smith, and what a decision it was. Roark was handed the game plan on Tuesday when they started putting in the offense for this week, and for a guy who hasn't played QB since high school, he did a heck of a job managing the game. He tossed for only 15 yards on 6 attempts but ran the Wild-Roark and handled the running game very well for a total of 234 yards on the ground, 140 of those credited to Roark, as CoShik Williams added 70.

It was a very tense final couple minutes as Tennessee had a opportunity to drive for the tie or win but the defense, which played amazing all day, stepped up with a clutch interception to seal the deal as UK ran out the last minute to celebrate their first win against Rocky Top in 26 years! So the team ends the year 5-7, not the best record but a great end to the year, so let's congratulate this team, especially the seniors who all deserved this more than anyone and to the fans who got to rush the field because I didn't get to!

As for our man Joker, he will be back in my mind as Mitch Barnhart has expressed his feeling towards the situation in a "Letter to Big Blue Nation" and has expressed that he believes Phillips is still the man for the job. So expect him back and with that let's ALL support him, with hopes of a better 2012 campaign. Now keep on celebrating as it's a big day in the Bluegrass! Go Cats!
