UK Alumni Game Game Will Bring Added Excitement To Hall of Fame Weekend

August 24, 2012

logo_ukhof_150What a day September 15th will be in Lexington. Scheduled for a 7:00pm kick-off, UK will play host to in-state opponent Western Kentucky during Kentucky's Hall of Fame Weekend where six names will be added to a list of greats. Fans in attendance to the football game will see Derek Abney, J.B. Holmes, LeRoy Edwards, Jeff Keener, Clayton Moss and Nancy Scranton all inducted.

The football game is not all though as we heard John Calipari talk about the UK Alumni Charity game a few weeks back which is now official. Rupp Arena will host the event the same day as the UK-WKU football game as guys that are currently playing professionally will head back to Lexington to have some fun in front of what I guess will be a sold out house. Tip off is set for 2:00pm, gates opening at 11:00am. Tickets begin going on sale one week from today, August 31st at 10:00am, limit of 4 and to purchase those go to TicketMaster.com. Here is a excerpt from UKAthletics.com:

Tickets for the game go on sale Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. ET. All seats are reserved and priced at $100 (premium lower level), $40 (lower level) and $20 (upper level). Tickets can be purchased only at the Rupp Arena box office, online at Ticketmaster.com, at any Ticketmaster Outlet or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. There is a four-ticket limit per person. Online orders and phone orders will have additional fees attached. All proceeds from the game will go to charity.

In my opinion I think this is obviously a great idea as all proceeds will be going to the charity but as a sporting venue it couldn't get better. Fans will already be tailgating for the gridiron match up, but with the basketball game added, MORE of BBN will arrive in town and then head over to Commonwealth Stadium, hang with some friends, eat some dogs and head in to see the football game which will cap off one of the more memorable days as a Cat fan!
