No surprise really after Trinity's star defensive end Jason Hatcher committed to the University of Southern California Friday night. Hatcher picked between USC, Tennessee and Louisville. "It didn't come down to one thing," Hatcher told USCFootball.com. "It was a multitude of things. It was the private school education. It was the players I already knew there. It was the fact that they have senior defensive ends and that I have a chance to play early." Hatcher is ranked the 3rd best defensive end in the 2013 class by Scout.com. The 6'3 230 lbs. senior had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Kentucky and several others. The Trinity senior did say the uncertainty of the Big East did play a small part in the fact he didn't pick Louisville. But he said Louisville is still planning on recruiting him, "When we were on the phone, Coach Hurtt was like, 'I understand, we always thought you would go somewhere because you didn't want to stay home,'" Hatcher said. "But he said that the recruitment wasn't over, and it was a long time till February (and national signing day)."
