2012 NBA Draft results

June 29, 2012

29.2s.087.draft.BW--300x300We now know the outcome of the 2012 NBA Draft as Anthony Davis got things started as the #1 pick last night to the New Orleans Hornets. This was not news as Davis has been the consensus overall pick since winning the National Championship. But from there it got interesting with the Charlotte Bobcats on the board with the #2 pick. Most were thinking Harrison Barnes but no, we had another first in NBA history as they chose UK forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to make the first ever 1-2 pick from the same school. It was great seeing Kidd-Gilchrist go #2, you could tell he was shocked and well deserved.

As for the other Wildcats on the draft board, Terrence Jones slipped just outside the lottery with the 18th pick to the Houston Rockets, Marquis Teague went 29th to the Chicago Bulls, Doron Lamb was the 42nd pick to the Milwaukee Bucks and rounding out was Darius Miller who will join Davis down in New Orleans when he was chosen #46. Congratulations to all 6 of these guys, another NBA draft record, as they now can pursue their ultimate dreams.
