Murray State Football Player Dies

      Murray State sophomore Jeff Richard die Thursday yesterday in Elizabethtown, KY. according to Elizabethtown police. Richards played defensive end, he played in 11 games last year as a freshman. He was also played high school football at John Hardin High School where he was named Elizabethtown All-Area Defensive Player of the Year and second-team all-state as a senior.

       “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jeff,” said head football coach Chris Hatcher. “He was a fine young man and outstanding member of our football team.  His departure from us is tragic and he will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this very difficult time.”

 

The cause of death has yet to be released. Richard was 19 years old.
