Former UofL Cross Country Star Wesley Korir Wins Boston Marathon

     Wesley Korir, former UofL star, won the Boston Marathon today with a time of 2 hours, 12 minutes, 41 seconds. Korir beat more then 22,000 runners in temperatures that reached 84 degrees. The Kenyan native started his college career at Murray State before transferring to the University of Louisville.

      "To me, I think running the Boston Marathon is an Olympic event," Korir said  "I don't care what comes up after this, but I'm really, really happy to win Boston."

        It is great to see a former Cardinal continue to have success, hopefully he will continue representing UofL in the Olympics
