Louisville Guts Out Win Over Pitt 57-54
February 26, 2012By Jon Hancock of KentuckySports.co
The Louisville Cardinals get a win at home against a struggling Pittsburgh Panther team. The is several thing the Cards need to work on and time is running out to get things ironed out. But it was a win, a win the Louisville needed to try to catch momentum before the Big East Tournament. Our defense, especially in the first half was amazing. Rick Pitino said he would focus on keeping the pace up during practice this week. "Everyone knows what you're gonna run if you walk the ball up the court".
Kyle Kuric round his shot back, after having a horrible night against Cincinnati Thursday nigh Kuric was 5-8 from the floor with 17 points. Chris Smith was 0-4 making it two games in a row without a field goal, Chris was Louisville's most consistent players during the year. He really needs to step up his game. Hopefully senior night on Wednesday against South Florida will help him get his groove back. I thought Peyton Siva played a decent game, made some bad passes late but a good all-around game. Russ Smith continues to give me heart palpitations, but the kid can score. Pitino said of Russ Smith after the game, " I have no idea what Russ does out there on the court. But he's won about four or five games for us this year. He really saved the season."
