Jordan Whiting considering transferring to the Cards!
February 21, 2012KentuckySports.co
Thomas Bradley of "The Lantern" in Columbus Ohio reported the story here. Whiting responded to the story "(A transfer) is not yet set in stone and isn't on my mind at this time," Whiting said Tuesday. "I'm focused on my school endeavors, keeping in shape with tough workouts and strict nutrition and most importantly letting God direct me in the right direction."
As a guy who followed Jordan while he was at Trinity and was a little bent out of shape when he (expectedly) announced he wouldn’t become a Card, I would be ecstatic if we were to pick him up, especially if he could somehow be eligible to play in 2012!
Whiting was one of the players who got into some trouble for receiving impermissible benefits(Terrelle Pryor was the most well known recipient of these benefits) and Whiting didn’t record a tackle last season. He could therefore possibly be eligible to play for the Cards during the upcoming season.
The Cards have a very highly ranked incoming class of Linebackers in Keith Brown, Nick Dawson, Larry Jefferson and James Burgess. Brown and Dawson are both rated by scout.com as 4 star prospects while Jefferson and Burgess are rated as 3 star prospects. Jordan Whiting was rated as a three star prospect and the #16 MLB in the 2009 class of incoming freshman. He red-shirted (as many do in his situation) during the 2009 season for the buckeyes before registering two total tackles during the 2010 season, contributing mainly on special teams and some fill in snaps for an injury depleted Buckeye LB corps.
Here is Jordan’s profile for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
C’mon home Jordan!
