With five minutes, seven seconds remaining in the third quarter, the Kendrick girls held a modest 38-29 lead over Bremen in the girls Region 5-AA championship game on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Spencer High.
By the end of the quarter, the Lady Cherokees had gone on a 28-2 run to jump in front by 35 points after three. As one fan put it, that was the beginning of the end.

Hicks and the rest of the coaching staff did not realize the run until weel after the game was over. "We strive for perfection, understanding we will fall short, it's hard to see those type of things during the corse of a game", said Head Coach Sterling Hicks.
The Lady Cherokees will enter into the State Tournament as the number 1 seed from 5-AA and play the number 4 seed from region 8-AA Jefferson County, Tuesday Feb 19th - 6pm.
