In a tight 29-20 game at the break, Kendrick tighten up on the defensive side of the ball and outscored the Lady Red Devils 30-6 for the first 12 minutes of the second half to take a commanding 59-26 lead. The 33-point advantage was a game high for the Cherokees. "I thought we played sloppy for the entire game," commented coach Sterling Hicks. "We played hard but we still have plenty to correct for Monday and for the rest of the season." The Cherokees will take on Columbus HS Monday at 5pm, for the tournament championship, at CSU's Lumpkin Center.
