KHS Play The Role of Spolier at Bremen
October 11, 2012Kendrick High School
Friday Night in Bremen the school, the football team, and the city were buzzing with the anticipation of all Homecoming activities which included the crowning of a new king and queen, and ring of fame inductions....then they played the game!
The Kendrick Cherokees were hand picked to play Bremen for their Homecoming and they took it personal. The Cheorkees came out striking first blood and Bremmen came right back as if it was a heavy weight prize fight.
The half time score was 8-6 Bremmen and Kendrick struggled most of the second half until late in the 4th quarter when QB John Hines put the team on his back and put together the game winning drive in the last 2 mins of the game.
Bremen had arranged a fireworks display after the game and it seemed fitting because the visiting Kendrick Cherokees had accomplshed something no one gave them a chance to do - beat Bremen!
Coach Dukes said, it was a big win for The Cherokees and put us in the driver's seat for making the play-offs with several key matchups still ahead.
The guys will enjoy their off week, but understand they are now the team to beat and welcome the challenge.
