January 30, 2013
By Randall Durant of Keller High School Basketball

The Keller Indians won their 4th straight game and their 5th straight over Southlake with a 49-46 win at Carroll Tuesday night. It was a VERY physical game, but the Indians did a great job of keeping their composure and coming away with the win. The win improved Keller's record to 19-9 and 9-1 in district play. more importantly, it clinched a playoff spot. The Indians will be in the state playoffs for the 4th straight year, and 5th time in the last 6 years!! Keller trailed 11-9 after the first quarter, but came back to take a 25-21 lead at half despite Mike Opolski being in foul trouble.  Nolan Taylor hit a three to start the 2nd half, and Keller led the rest of the way. The Indians kept it interesting by missing 6 4th quarter free throws, but gutted it out for the win. Opolski led Keller with 13 points, Austyn Kennedy 9, Nolan Taylor 8, Kyle Tanner 7, Blake Stewart 6, and Alec Ingraham 6. Keller remains tied with Richland for 1st place and hosts Timbercreek Friday night.
