Indians Corral Buffaloes

The Keller Indians stuggled to a 59-53 win over Haltom Friday to remain tied for 1st in district 4-5A. It was close all night as Keller trailed 13-9 after one then lead by one at the half 25-24.  The Indians made some headway in the third to lead 39-33, but allowed Haltom to tie the game 44-44 with about 3 minutes remaining. Freshmen Nolan Taylor stepped out and drained a 3 pointer and Keller never trailed again. Mike Opolski led Keller with 17 points 12 rebounds, 6 deflections, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Nolan  Taylor 10 pointsand 7 rebounds, Austyn Kennedy 12points 4 assists, Kyle Tanner 10 points, Alec Ingraham 9, and Blake Stewart 1. Keller improves to 18-9 on the year, and 8-1 in district play. With the win the Indians have obtained at least a tie for a playoff spot. Keller is trying to secure a spot in the playoffs for the 4th straight year and 5th time in the last 6.

The Indians Jv lost for only the 5th time all year. Unfortunately it allowed Haltom to pull into a first place tie with the Indians in district play. Keller, now 23-5, and 8-1, half 29-20, but gave up 22 third quarter points in rout to a 54-53 loss. Quinn Shoop had 13, Matt Murphy 13, Blake Neslon 12, Christian Guillory 7, and Kevin Downey 7.

The Freshmen A team beat Haltom  66-14, to improve to 17-7 and 7-2 in district. Layton O'Neal had 14, Luke Walker 9, Paul Brewer 9, Anthony Savera 6, Cameron Johnson 6, Tyler Tutt 6, Austin Reynolds 5, Ben Bahr 5, Austin McGee 4, and Keiran Rye 2.
