Home » Boys' Basketball NewsIndians sweep Falcons in first ever meeting!January 8, 2013 By Randall Durant of Keller High School BasketballIt was the Keller Indians first trip to play the Timbercreek Falcons and the Indians went 3 for three on Tuesday night. The Freshmen used a very balanced scoring attack on their way to a 53-34 win. Keller held Timbercreek to 4 points in the 2nd quarter on their way to a 29-15 halftime lead. It never got any closer as Keller won each quarter on their way to their 3rd district win in 4 games. The were especially good at the line going 10-11 for the game.Austin Reynolds had 9, Ben Bahr 8, Tyler Tutt 7, Anthony Savera 7, Paul Brewer 6, Cameron Johnson 5, Austin McGee 4, Layton O'Neal 4, Luke Walker 2, and Keiran Rye 1. Freshmen are now 14-6 on the year, and 3-1 in district play. The Jv won 50-37 to improve to 4-0 in district, and 18-4 on the year.Keaton Hildebrand had 8 points in the 2nd quarter as Keller led 26-23 at the half. Blake Nelson had 7 in the 3rd and Kevin Downey and Conner Estes combined for 10 4th quarter points to seal the win. Kevin Downey had 11, Blake Nelson 11, Keaton Hildebrand 8, Conner Estes 6, Alec Brynes 6, Christian Guillory 6. The Varsity had a tough game but outscored the Falcons 26-14 in the 2nd half to win 48-36. The Indians went 15-20 from the line with some clutch free throws from Blake Stewart and Austyn Kennedy in the 4th. Kennedy had 15 points, Mike Opolski had 14, Nolan Taylor 10, Blake Stewart 4, Kyle Tanner 3, and Alec Ingraham 2. Nolan came up big with 11 rebounds and he controlled the paint for most of the game. The Indians are now 14-8 and 4-0 on the year. Friday the Indians host 4-0 Richland for sole possession of first place in district 4-5A.
