Home » Boys' Basketball NewsVarsity sqeaks by the LionsDecember 27, 2012 By Randall Durant of Keller High School BasketballThe varsity squad traveled to Waco to play in the Mt Rice Tourament today and came away with a first round victory over the Waco High School Lions. Both teams had had their fill of fudge and Christmas cookies, but it was the Indians who prevailed with a 47-40 victory. Though the game was sloppy (first games back ALWAYS are), the Indians led all the way from start to finish. Mike Opolski scored 14, Austyn Kennedy 9, Kyle Tanner 7, Alec Ingraham 6, Brock Anders 5, and Erik Frederiksen 5. The Indians have high expectations for this tournament and hope to return to the championship game for a second year in a row.
The Indians have 2 games tomorrow, with the first against a very solid Austin Bowie team. The second will be that afternoon TBD.
