Winter Sports Media Guide

Dear basketball and wrestling parents,

We once again this year would like to produce a media guide for our winter sports. Last year was our first try at this and it went ok, but we think we can improve. Due to several factors, we have gotten a late start on selling ads. So, now we have to get with it. We need to get out and hunt up business ads NOW!! I am sending the signup pages with prices. You will notice there is a business form and a personal parent ad form. Due to the economy we can expect a much tougher time generating ads. Please take this info. To your cleaners, bank, etc. and give them the opportunity to support Keller high winter sports.

What we would like to have is one parent to head this up from each sport. They will be the contact person for all parents to turn in ads to and to correspond with coaches and Liz Orser (booster Club representative). Mainly, you will be doing the legwork of picking up ads, pics, etc. and getting them to printer.  If you are interested in leading this please contact Coach Schee, Coach Sporrer, or myself ASAP.

Booster club has told us that we cannot get printing done until Dec. 18^th. I know that is very late, but there is nothing we can do about it this year. Next year we will go another route. For now this is the timetable. All pics and ads must be turned in and proofed by Nov. 20^th at the latest. Parents and businesses  will be able to proof your ads online before printing. The first 2 weeks of Nov. will be crazy with the start of the season, taking team pictures etc. so we really need the majority of ads in by Nov. 1^st if possible. That date is fast approaching.

We started doing this as a memento for players and parents, but we need to make enough money to pay for program. Our sports will have to fork up any money if we are short. Last year, we were barely in the black. Estimated printing cost is going to be about $4700. Any profit will be divided between the three sports (less $250) to booster club. I still have a handful of last year's programs that can be used to help sell ads. They are full color and very well done.  If you have any questions you can contact me.
