11 PATRIOT FOOTBALL PLAYERS WIN POST SEASON HONORS

11 PATRIOTS PLAYERS, COACH RECEIVE POST-SEASON HONORS

 Six John Curtis players were named to the 2011 All-State Class 2A Footall Team by the Times-Picayune.  On the heels of a perfect season (14-0) and a record 24^th State Championship, the writers also named Coach J.T. Curtis Coach of the Year.

 The Patriots also had 11 players on the Times-Picayune’s All-District 2A Team and seven on the newspaper’s All-Metro Small Schools Team. 

 Junior linebacker Duke Riley capped an outstanding year by sweeping the defensive “MVP” honors on all three teams.  Junior  Sherman Badie earned Offensive Player of the Year honors on the All-District Team.

 Testimony to the Patriots’ power up front, four of the six All-District offensive linemen are from Curtis (tight end Dillon Gordon and interior linemen Brandon Godfrey, Jonathan Levens and Anthony Taylor) plus three of the five defensive linemen (Torrey Bell, Chris Lorden and Kyle Cortez).
