John Curtis Volleyball Spotlight: Tatiana Bell
By Alyx Tripp
Freshman Tatiana Bell has attended Curtis for four years. She was on homecoming court this year representing the freshmen class. She is a starter for the varsity Lady Patriot volleyball team as their middle hitter.
Tatiana started playing volleyball because of her mom. Tatiana says “my mom told me I should try it.” She has now been playing for three years and hopes to later go on to play in college. Evidently a mother really does know best. She is a huge asset the Lady Patriots and we thank her for her advice.
Although Tatiana is only a freshman she has big plans for the future. She hopes to attend either Texas State or Penn State to study to become a veterinarian. Surely some of the skills that she uses to excel in volleyball with help her achieve this goal; hard work, dedication, commitment and perseverance.
Tatiana’s favorite subject at Curtis is English, “because the class is fun and easy for me.” She also commented on her schoolmates, saying “the people are cool.”
When asked what her favorite thing about volleyball was she replied “it’s really fun, and competitive.” Tatiana’s favorite professional volleyball player is Destinee Hooker “because she is an amazing player and knows what she is doing at all times on the court, and she dominates in front and back.” Tatiana is truly a value to Curtis and you can see her on the court in the upcoming volleyball playoff games.
