April 23, 2012
By Jeff Curtis of John Curtis Christian High School

The Lady Patriot softball team ran it's impressive record to 29-0 Thursday with a 9-0 regional playoff victory over Calvary Baptist. The team will now go to the state tournament in Sulphur, Louisiana at Frasch Park. Friday's game will be played at 6:00 PM against the team the Lady Patriots lost to in last year's semi-final contest, the Kinder Yellow Jackets on Field #14. The Patriots/Yellow Jackets will face the winner of Iota and Riverside, which would be played Saturday at 11:00 AM on Field #15. The state championship game will also be played Saturday at 5:00 on Field #16. The Lady Patriots are the top seed with the two, three and four seeds all still alive in the playoffs. If you have the chance to travel to Sulphur to watch the Lady Patriots, please do so. Congratulations and good luck to the Lady Patriots in the 2012 state tournament!!
