April 4, 2011Jeffersonville High School
JHS Concert Percussion was named Tri-State Champions Saturday! Tri-State is the competitive organization for percussion and color guards during the winter season with schools from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio competing. Championships were held in the Cincinnati area Saturday and are the culmination of a competitive season that began in late January. JHS Percussion went into Championships weekend tied for 2nd after season rankings and pulled off their best score ever with an 84.3! This is our first championship win in school history, the percussion did pull off a 2nd place finish at championships in 2008.
The JHS Colorguard also competed in Tri-State Championships and finished in 7th place, with another highest score in their history 79.8! They have also had an amazing season with tremendous team and individual growth.
I could not be more proud of these students for representing JHS and the Jeffersonville community so well at this very important event!
The Percussion members will be wearing their Championship Medals today with pride, please congratulate these great young people.
Thank you all for your continued support,
