This year more than enough girls came out for volleyball tryout. There were three teams created: Varsity, JV, and JV2, and even seven people were cut. We ended up with ten freshman girls. Freshman Olivia Borden moved up to varsity and also Freshman Megan Devorak made it to JV.
That left eight Freshman girls for the JV2 team including: Alyssa Watters, Rachel Collins, Kelsey Shaw, Chelsie Woolley, Candice Nelson, Amanda Goodwin, Monikka Disla, Krystal Lemhouse, as well as three Sophomores; Brooke Percell, Shiloh Slaeker, and Alondra Tores. The JV2 has a total of ten games and three tournaments; the JV has 12 games and five tournaments and the varsity has 13 games and six tournaments.Volleyball has several rules unique to this sport: you can’t role your spandex, or wear hair clips, even though in club volleyball you can. You can’t put your foot over the line, that’s under the net, but you can put any other body parts as long as it doesn’t interfere with the other team. You can’t lift the ball on any play except when the other team is serving to you.
The JV2 team has won all their games so far this season. Normal game times are in the east wing gym at 5:30. They also won their first tournament and got fourth place in their second. The JV team has lost two games and won four. The first tournament in Junction City they got first as well and the second tournament in Cottage Grove they got sixth. The Varsity has lost five games and won one so far.
