Despite Improvement Jays Drop Pair

Despite showing improvement from their losses earlier in the week to the Minot Majettes in fastpitch action, the Blue Jays dropped a pair of games on Thursday night in McElroy Park 16-5 respectively in both games.

Jamestown got off to a fast start in game one leading 3-0 at one point, but it was Minot taking the lead 4-3 after three innings and never looking back the remainder of the game.  Game two of the double header featured a close game at 1-1 going into the top of the 3rd inning when Minot broke it open for 6 runs in the top of the frame.  The Blue Jays managed to score 3 runs in the bottom of the fourth and one in the fifth, but Minot proved too potent and was able to get 4 runs in the 4th, 2 in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th.

Sophomore Alicia Beckman was the offensive standout for the Blue Jays on the night as she was 4 for 5 on the night with a double and two triples.  Blue Jays travel to Dickinson today to play the Midgets and finish up the regular season schedule.
