Jays Compete @ William Jansen Invite

The Blue Jay Boys & Girls Track & Field Teams competed Tuesday at the William Jansen Invite in Valley City.  The boy's finished 3rd in the 16 team field while the girls finished 4th in a 16 team field as well.

Highlights for the boys included John Nagel's 2nd place finish in the 400  (52.84), Philip Manley's 2nd place finish in the 3200 (10:43.18), Matt Kopp's 4th place finish in the 110 hurdles (18.04) and 6th place finish in the 300 hurdles (45.78).  Ashton Johnson was 3rd in the high jump (5-6), and Jordan Thoreson was 3rd in the shot-put (45-11).

The girls top performances on the day were Alison Allmer's 1st place finishes in the 800 & 1600 meter runs (2:25.68 & 5:21.74).  McKayla Orr also took home a 1st place finish in the 300 hurdles (45.43). Kylee Voigt placed 2nd in the 400 (1:02.31) and 7th in the 200 (28.18).  Jenna Stilwell finished 3rd in the long jump (15-11) and triple jump (33-2).  She also finished 5th in the javelin (93-5).  Beka Hilgemann was 4th in the discus (87-10) and 6th in the shot-put (29-0).
