Home » Girls' Softball NewsLady Jacks Softball in action over spring breakMarch 19, 2012 Diboll High SchoolOver the course of spring break, softball was in full force. Your Lady Jacks took on Hudson on Tuesday, March 13th and although the score decided the outcome of the game it did not quite reflect how well these ladies played. They fell in 5 inninings, losing 0-10. Abbie Cardona reached base twice, with one hit and one hit by pitch. Myra Olvera walked and Angel Reyes singled. They Lady Jacks have had a hard time executing when runners are in scoring position this year. As the week continued, the Lady Jacks took on Kirbybille on Wednesday, March 14th which happened to be their rain make-up. The Lady Jacks reached base several times but could not score with runners in scoring position. They had bases loaded 3 times throughout the game and could not scratch a run across. In the meanwhile, the Lady Jacks did manage to score 2 runs before falling to Kirbyville 2-5. Lead hitters were Angel Reyes with 3 hits, Mrya Olvera and Abbie Cardona shared 2 hits a piece, and Bridget Chandler, Chassidy Adams and Sydney Hurley contributed one hit a piece. The Lady Jacks ended the week against Central on Friday, March 23rd. They Lady Jacks battled with the Bulldogs for 3 innings before Central cracked it open with a grand slam by Chrissy Capps. The Lady Jacks fell 3-16. Lead hitters Abbie Cardona, Paige James, Abbie Cummings and Sarah Smith with one hit a piece. Cumulative statistics to come. Thanks to all who came out to support these wonderful ladies over spring break. We travel to Huntington on Tuesday, but we look forward to seeing you again on Friday when we take on the Center Lady Riders at Diboll.
