WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Mallory Livingston and Madison Yoder represented the Indiana University East volleyball team on the all-tournament team after the Red Wolves finished 2-2 at the Grace College Invitational.
The Red Wolves (2-3) split a pair of matches Saturday, starting with a 25-20, 26-24, 25-21 win against Indiana University Kokomo, before falling 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 against the Indiana Institute of Technology.
The win against IU Kokomo (0-4) extended IU East's perfect record against IU regional campuses since the start of the 2009 season, though it did not count in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings.
"That was the match we wanted to show up and show what we could do," Yoder said. "We were real excited to play that match because of the (rivalry) we have with Kokomo."
Livingston totaled a team-high 28 kills on Saturday and posted a hitting average over .300 in both matches. Yoder made a team-high 42 digs.
"I thought there were a lot of positives to take away from the weekend," said IU East coach Abby Niekamp. "Obviously we ended on a not-so-high note, but we did some great things this weekend. I think we are finding out who we are as a team."
IU East travels to the Columbia (Missouri) College Invitational on Aug. 29 and 30.
