VOLLEYBALL: IU EAST 3, CARLOW 0
PITTSBURGH - The Indiana University East volleyball team earned a 25-23, 25-21, 25-16 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win Sept. 8 at Carlow University. The Red Wolves (11-4, 2-1) snapped a three-match losing streak and picked up a key league win in what suddenly shapes up to be an up-for-grabs conference race. Carlow (4-6, 1-1), which beat KIAC preseason favorite Point Park University on Sept. 4, lost its fourth in a row. "It was good to see the team come back from three losses and show their resiliency, hard work and effort," said IU East coach Adam Stevenson. "We played better and didn't compound errors. "We came away with what we needed in the conference race. We still control our own destiny in the conference as long as we continue to play well." IU East plays at Anderson University on Sept. 11. Match time is 7 p.m.
