RICHMOND, Ind. - Seth Prince won the men's 8K race to highlight the day for the
Indiana University East cross country teams Aug. 30 at the inaugural Regional Campus
Rumble.
Prince (Albany, Ind./Delta High School), a junior, covered the IU East Cross Country
Course in 29:06 to earn a first-place finish in the Red Wolves' season-opening meet
for the second consecutive year. Prince won the Asbury Invitational to open the 2012
season.
"I started off on the pace I wanted. I just took off with the guy from (IU) Kokomo
(runner-up Javier Vasquez) and we kept running. When we came through the woods the
second time, I knew we were coming up on the finish and I hoped to stay on pace."
And he did, winning by 38 seconds.
The meet brought together the Indiana University and Purdue University regional
campus NAIA cross country programs.
Purdue University Calumet won the women's team title. The Peregrines' Courtney
Wagner won the women's 5K race in 21:06.
Indiana University Kokomo won the men's team title.
Red Wolves freshman Morgan Stanley (Winchester, Ind./Winchester Community High
School) led the IU East women with a third-place finish. Stanley covered the 5K
course in 23:14 in her college debut.
IU East runs at the Grace College Lancer Invitational on Sept. 14.
