MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: IU EAST 66, CINCINNATI CHRISTIAN 63

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Tyler Fangman scored a career-high 26 points - on his 20th
birthday - as the Indiana University East men's basketball team held off Cincinnati
Christian University on Jan. 15 in a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
matchup.
The Red Wolves (12-7, 2-2) snapped a three-game losing streak. CCU fell to 8-10
overall and 2-2 in the KIAC.
Fangman, a sophomore guard whose hometown of Cold Spring, Ky., is just across the
Ohio River from Cincinnati, hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with two minutes remaining.
He also hit a pair of free throws with 6.6 seconds remaining to force CCU to go for
a desperation 3-pointer on its final possession.
"It is a big deal for me to come here and have my family and friends here, but the
most important thing is that we got the win," said Fangman, who shared a box of
birthday cupcakes on the ride home. "We struggled late in the game, but we did the
things we needed to do to pull it out and get a conference win."
Sophomore guard Huston Clark (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo High School) added 18 points for
IU East.
Junior guard Bakari Smith (Indianapolis, Ind./George Washington High School) led IU
East with seven rebounds and four assists.
Mike Hill led CCU with 25 points.
The Red Wolves host Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponent Alice
Lloyd College on Jan. 19 at the Richmond High School Tiernan Center. Tipoff time is
2 p.m.
An autograph session for Junior Red Wolves members will be held after the game. A
glossy team photo will be provided to Junior Red Wolves members.
