OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team opened a
1,300-mile round-trip road trip with an 89-77 win at Brescia University on Jan. 2 in
the Red Wolves' Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.
The Red Wolves (10-4, 1-0) won their fifth consecutive game. The Bearcats fell to
5-10 (1-3).
Senior guard Marcus Isaac (Indianapolis, Ind./Purdue University North Central) led
four IU East players in double digits with 22 points. Isaac made 10 of 12 shots.
"It was a great feeling to see the intensity pick up for a conference game," said
freshman guard Vasha Davis (Hammond, Ind./Morton High School), who scored a career
high 15 points. "A great win, and we've got to keep it going."
Sophomore guards Huston Clark (Kokomo, Ind./Kokomo High School) and Tyler Fangman
(Cold Spring, Ky./Beechwood High School) added 18 points apiece for IU East.
Myron Christian scored 20 points for Brescia.
IU East's 1,300-mile road trip continues Jan. 4 and 5 at the College of the Ozarks
McDonald's Classic. The Red Wolves face the tourney host Bobcats at 8:30 p.m. IU
East time on Jan. 4 and No. 19 Bellevue at 2 p.m. IU East time on Jan. 5.
